# geo-score

> geo-score is an open-source command-line tool, by Jianrun Tech (见润科技), that scores a website from 0 to 100 on whether AI answer engines such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews can reach it, parse it, trust it and cite it, against a published, versioned rubric (AIV rubric v1.1: 21 tiered checks in five pillars, three gates, up to +6 bonus). It is MIT-licensed, needs Python 3.8+ and no API key for the score; the current release is 1.8.3 on PyPI.

Run it: `uvx geo-score@1.8.3 example.com` (or `pip install geo-score==1.8.3`). geo-score.dev also scores a site online, on up to 5 pages, at https://geo-score.dev/score/?url=example.com. The score measures whether engines can cite a site; whether they actually do is measured separately (levels 2 and 3, with your own API keys) and never added to the score.
